Cinnamon Bread Milk Toast

I remember making milk toast as a kid.
The creamy texture of white bread was toasted
and then sweetened with white sugar and milk.
In this recipe the only thing I've changed
is instead of using plain old white bread,
I jazzed it up using raisin and cinnamon bread.
Oh and I added some magic, a pinch of saffron,
can you amagine how good this tastes?
Simple comfort food doesn't get any better.

Ingredients:
8 slices Pepperidge Farms cinnamon bread
2 cups whole milk
1/4 cup water
1 pinch saffron
2 tablespoons white sugar

Directions:
Toast bread, cut into pieces
and place in serving bowls.
In a small bowl microwave water, sugar and
saffron and the let steep for 15 minutes.
Pour saffron water over toasted bread.
I think I just drooled on my key board!
Pour milk over bread to almost cover.
Serve.
