Everybody Loves This Meatloaf

This recipe I came up with entirly by accident,
I was fooling around with some tomato barbecue sauce,
sour cream and Worcestershire sauce trying to come up
with a new steak sauce for use on the grill when I
decided to use it in a ground beef meat loaf recipe.
It makes the best tasting meatloaf I've ever had.
And the left overs make killer meat loaf sandwiches.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon oil
1 small onion, peeled and chopped
1/2 green or red bell pepper, cored, seeded and chopped
2 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 1/4 pounds ground beef, 85/15
3/4 pound ground pork
1 teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon cayenne, or to taste
1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1 1/2 cups plain dry breadcrumbs
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons tomato barbecue sauce, divided
3 tablespoons sour cream
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 egg

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Heat oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat.
Add the onions, bell peppers and garlic,
and saute 3 minutes until soft.
Stir in the cumin and saute 1 minute.
Transfer to a nonreactive large bowl.
Add the beef, pork, pepper, cayenne,
salt, breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup barbecue sauce,
sour cream, Worcestershire sauce and egg.
Use clean hands to combine until
mixture is moist but not soupy.
Try not to over mix this meat mixture.
Place in a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan.
Bake, uncovered, 45 minutes.
Raise the oven temperature to 400 degrees F.
and bake another 30 minutes until
the internal temperature is 160 degrees.
During the last 10 minutes of cooking,
brush the top with 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce.
Let sit 10 minutes before slicing.
