This is a British sandwich and if you
don't try this soon your missing out!
These tasty sandwiches are also popular
in Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
Arguably, the best thing that the Brits
have ever added to world cuisine.
The key to the perfect chip butty
is that the white bread is very
thickly buttered, so the hot chips
melt it as you eat the sandwich.
Ingredients:
2 slices thick white bread
Butter
Potatoes
Ketchup
Salt
Pepper
Malt vinegar
Spices and seasonings
Directions:
Cut a potato into wedges,
fries or thick chips.
Deep-fry your potato wedges
until they are as crisp as you like.
The crispier chips make a crunchy sandwich.
Butter bread and place the hot fries
(the British call them "chips")
on one of the bread slices.
Pile them haphazardly, or
if you want to get a chip in each bite,
line them up on your bread so you
don't have gaps-your choice.
Pour ketchup over the hot, fried potatoes,
or for a different taste, add salt, pepper
and a dash of malt vinegar instead of ketchup.
Cover with the other slice of bread,
and you've made a chip butty.
