The sauerkraut is flavored with
caraway seeds and unsalted butter,
sweetened with a touch of brown sugar.
A well balanced combination of flavors.
Ingredients:
4 Granny Smith apples
16 ounces sauerkraut,
rinsed and drained well
4 teaspoons unsalted butter
4 tablespoons brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon caraway seeds
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degress F.
In a large mixing bowl combine the
sauerkraut, brown sugar,
butter and the caraway seeds.
Core each apple making a bowl
for stuffing with sauerkraut.
Place apples on a baking dish and bake
about 45 minutes or until done.
