I know what your thinking bacon fat isn't good for you.
As a young kid growing up in the fifties it was.
And the greens were good and tasty for that matter.
I'm sure there are many fancy recipes for bacon greens.
Some with onions, others with nuts along with the greens.
All I remember is a lettuce drizzled with bacon grease.
We might have even used dandelion leaves at the time.
Try this and you won't be sorry for it really is good.
Ingredients:
Leafy lettuce leaves or greens
Grease redered from bacon
Directions:
Tear or cut the greens into bite size pieces,
place greens in serving dish and drizzle with warm fat.
You could use any greens such as mustard,collard,escarole
endive,chard,spinach,dandelion, you get the idea.
