Authentic January Thaw Candy

This candy is called January thaw for a reason,
taking a bite of this takes the bite out of winter.
It's supposed to be rustic in appearance with a sweet
dark brown look from inside to the crunchy outside.
Just in time for the holidays, here is January Thaw.

Ingredients:
4 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
5 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons dark molasses
2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Butter a 9 by 13 inch baking dish.
In a mixing bowl place evaporated milk,
add brown sugar and stir to dissolve.
Place in a saucepan and add butter,
bring to a rolling boil for 2 minutes.
Remove from stove and add the chopped
walnuts stirring and beating well.
Pour into buttered baking dish.
Cut or break into irregular pieces.
