Brussels Sprouts with Maple Syrup

Every year or so we get a bumper crop
of fresh sprouts from the garden.
The sweetness of the maple syrup
makes this an unusually elegant dish.

Ingredients:
3 cups Brussels sprouts
1/4 cup maple syrup
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper

Directions:
If they need to be: trimmed, remove
the outer leaves from the sprouts.
Cut the ends off, then slice them
into halves and cook for about
15 to 20 minutes in boiling water until tender.
Drain and toss with the maple syrup.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
