Gruyere Cheese Filled Loaf

This is one of my original appetizers,
combining the delicious fragrance of hot bread,
the creaminess of melted gruyere cheese
and the texture and flavor of walnuts.

Ingredients:
1 medium-sized loaf of bread
7 oz gruyere cheese
1-1/2 oz shelled walnuts, chopped

Directions:
Choose a round loaf with a high top.
Cut a slice off the top horizontally to serve as a lid.
Empty out the center of the bread using a sharp knife
to make enough room for the slice of cheese.
Place a few walnuts on top of the cheese inside the bread,
and cover with the bread lid.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 15 minutes or
until the cheese is melting. Serve immediately.
