Morning Toasted Oatmeal

This recipe been a staple in our house,
especially with the young ones.
You can make it early in the week
and reheat it with milk, too.

Ingredients:
1 cup oatmeal
1 tablespoon of butter
3 cups water
1 cup milk
2 Tablespoons packed brown sugar
cinnamon to taste
salt to taste

Directions:
In a saucepan, toast over medium heat:
Stir almost continuously until the
grains begin browning (about 3-5 minutes).
Stir in water (or a little less for thicker oatmeal)
Milk,cranberries,brown sugar and cinnamon to taste.
Whisk or stir for the preferred result
as you bring the mixture back to a boil.
Cook for 15 minutes over low heat, covered,
stirring once or twice.
Add salt to taste. Cook for 5 minutes more.
