Amish Sugar Cookies

This is a basic sugar cookie recipe.
Nothing fancy about it except the cookies.

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup confectioner’s sugar
1 cup margarine
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs, well beaten
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla or lemon extract
Sugar

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F.
Combine sugars and mix to blend. Add margarine and oil.
Beat well. Add eggs and mix well. Sift together flour,
cream of tartar and baking soda. Add to sugar mixture;
beat well. Stir in vanilla. Form into small balls;
dip cookies top into a small amount of sugar
and flatten with bottom of a glass.
Bake 1 baking sheet at a time 5 to 9 minutes,
depending on size of cookies. Bake smaller cookies 5 minutes.
Do not overbake. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet.
Place foil sheets on countertop;
transfer cookies to foil to cool completely.
Frost and decorate as desired.
