Homemade Cream of
Fresh Asparagus Soup

With the asparagus starting to grow in the garden,
I had a hankering for some asparagus soup and came
up with this recipe to make cream of asparagus soup.
This is a good one!

Ingredients:
2 cups fresh asparagus, washed and chopped
1/4 cup butter or more to taste
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
2 chicken bouillon cubes
fresh ground black pepper to taste

Directions:
Melt butter in a saucepan.
Add flour and make a roux.
Add milk and bouillon cubes.
Cook over low heat until thickened.
Add pepper to taste.
Add more milk if adding other ingredients,
depending on the thickness you desire.
