These tomatoes are a good side to
serve with a nice grilled steak.
You can grill any red ripe tomato
but the plum or roma has more meat
and holds up to the heat of the grill.
Ingredients:
Plum tomatoes
Garlic powder
Oregano or Italian seasoning
Olive oil
Directions:
Cut plum tomatoes in half lengthwise,
remove the small stem if any.
Scoop out any seeds from the tomatoes.
Place cut side down on paper towels
to remove excess water if needed.
Brush cut side with olive oil,
sprinkle with garlic powder and
dried oregano or Italian seasoning.
Grill the tomatoes, cut sides down,
just until they’re nicely warmed
and slightly charred, 2 to 5 minutes.
