Making home made fudge isn't that difficult.
You do ned a candy thermometer though to
make sure that the ingredients get to the
correct temperature or soft ball stage.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup corn syrup
2 tablespoons butter
3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup cream
2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup walnuts, chopped
Directions:
Combine milk, corn syrup, butter, sugar,
salt and cream in a large heavy saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally,
until candy thermometer reaches 238 degrees F.
Remove from heat. Cool to 100 degrees F.
Add vanilla extract. Beat mixture until
it loses its gloss and thickens. Stir in walnuts.
Pour candy into buttered pan. Cut when cool.
