This is one recipes to make one
12"x16" sausage and pepper pizza.
Italian sausage is known for
its fennel and anise flavors.
Green bell pepper goes good with it.
In this recipe I use a boxed
biscuit dough in making the crust.
Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) package biscuit mix
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
6 provelone cheese slices
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
1 green bell pepper
2 Italian sausage patties, cooked
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
Directions:
Make the pizza crust per package directions.
Roll dough out into a baking sheet.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
In a bowl combine tomato paste, 1 cup water
sugar, salt and mix well until combined well.
Spread sauce on dough, leaving 1/2 inch around edge
Place provelone cheese in one layer on sauce.
Chop sausage into bite size pieces, arrange on pie.
Seed and slice pepper, arrange on pizza.
Arrange mozzarella cheese on pizza, top with oregano.
Place in oven and bake for about 20 minutes, until done.
Remove from oven, cut in slices and serve.
