This is a good sauce to use on fried chicken fingers.
Not to sweet or too sour for that matter.
Ingredients:
1 cup chicken stock
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup prepared ketchup
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 teaspoons low sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon red cayanne pepper
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon cold water
1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
Directions:
In a mixing bowl combine chicken stock
with sugar, ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce,
sesame oil, garlic powder and cayenne pepper
Place in a saucepan on medium heat to a simmer.
In a small bowl combine cold water and cornstarch.
Stir cornstarch mixture into saucepan thicken sauce.
Season sweet and sour sauce with salt to taste.
