Ever have a bunch of containers in the refrigerator
with leftover foods that are just to good to throw away
yet not enough to make a meal out of?
Of course you do, everybody does unless you eat out all the time.
Sometimes I get lucky in putting leftovers together
and create a really great dish. This one was sooo good!
This meal could be served in a five star restaurant
along with a really expensive bottle of wine.
In a casserole dish:
leftover cooked potato gnocchi with a Gorgonzola cheese cream sauce.
Some leftover whole smoked cremini mushrooms.
A layer of fresh whole milk ricotta cheese.
A layer of fresh spinach leaves.
A layer of deli sliced pepperoni.
Some sliced red onion.
A few grape tomatoes.
Baked covered at 450 degrees for 30 minutes.
I plated it with a creative chef's "for the eye".
A drizzle of olive oil and freshly shaved pecorino romano cheese.
We kept saying after each and every bite "Oh this is good!"
Each ingredient held up it's own unique flavor
and at the same time blended well with each other.
For dessert freshly baked banana slices with butter and cinnamon sugar.
And...
Fresh whipped cream filled cream puffs.
OMG !
