Bayrisch Kraut

Bayrisch Kraut (Bavarian cabbage).
Delicious served with Schweinebraten and Knoedel.
Make sure that the cabbage is not too green!

Ingredients:
1 medium sized cabbage
3-4 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 tsp sugar
1 can chicken broth
salt and caraway seeds

Directions:
Cut cabbage into 4 quarters
and remove the middle core.
Wash in salt water and
cut into rough slices.
Heat the oil in a pan
until slightly browned,
then add the sugar and the cabbage.
Stir and then add the chicken broth.
Season with salt and caraway seeds,
put a lid on the pan and
simmer for 40-50 minutes.
Take care to ensure that
the cabbage is not overcooked!
Serve with your favourite German recipe.
