There was a drive-in restaurant in our area
that sold these very good onion rings.
The restaurant didn't salt the fried onions
they gve you some salt packets on the side.
For years I tried to replicate the recipe trying
differant onions,flours and seasonings.
Then one day I became friends with one of the
restaurants ex-employees,he gave me the secret.
Ingredients:
large yellow onions
all purpose flour
vegetable oil for frying
salt
Desription:
Peel and slice onions,
place in a sealable plastic bag.
Add enough flour to bag to coat all of the onions
seal and shake to coat the onions with flour all over.
Remove onions to a colander,shake off excess flour.
Deep fry in oil until browned,place on towel to drain.
Sprinkle with salt while warm.
