A good old beef and gravy dish that
you can serve over rice,
egg noodles, or mashed potatoes.
Ingredients:
2 lbs. cubed beef for stew,
or round, or chuck roast cut into cubes
3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 small onion, chopped
2 cups water
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground black pepper
1 package dry brown gravy mix
1 cup water
Directions:
In a large nonstick skillet,
heat oil over medium heat.
Saute onion until soft.
Add beef cubes and cook, stirring often,
until meat is browned on all sides.
Add 2 cups water, Worcestershire sauce,
soy sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper to beef.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat,
cover and simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
Combine gravy mix package with 1 cup water.
Mix thoroughly and stir into meat mixture.
Simmer, stirring frequently until slightly thickened.
