The secret to making a perfect grilled cheese sandwich
is cooking the sandwich over low heat,
which brings out the subtle flavors of a cheese,
and spreading the bread with sweet creamery butter,
which crisps it in the pan to a crunchy texture.
Ingredients:
8 slices fresh white bread
8 slices American cheese
2 tablespoons butter
Directions:
Place pan on low heat.
Spread butter one side of each slice of bread,
place bread in pan buttered side down,
put two slices of cheese on each bread in pan,
place other slice of bread on cheese, buttered side up.
Fry until bottom bread is browned,flip to brown other side.
Remove cutting board,cut sandwich diagonaly,
serve warm along with potato chips and a dill pickle.
