Granny Smith Apple Pie

This is absolutly the best recipe to make the best
sour apple pie, ala mode topped with cheddar cheese.
And kicked up with a drizzle of tasty syrups.
Dusted with powdered sugar,it's apple pie heaven.
I've made this a hundred times and consider
this to be the best granny smith apple pie ever.
Best Ever! Best Ever! Best Ever!

Ingredients:
Pastry for two 9 inch pie crusts
6 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
2 tablespoons flour
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter
cheddar cheese,sliced
store bought caramel syrup
store bought chocolate syrup
confectioner's sugar

Directions:
Prepare two 9 inch pie crusts.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine apple slices,sugar,
flour,cinnamon,nutmeg and lemon juice.
Spoon into pastry lined pie pan,dot with butter.
Using one thumb on one hand and a thumb
and index finger on the other hand to horizontally
press edges together to seal and flute edges.
Cut several slits in the top of the pie crust.
Sprinkle with granulated sugar.

Bake at 350 degree oven for 45 to 60 minutes
or until crust is golden brown.
Remove from oven and let cool.

When serving, slice and plate pie,
place a slice of cheddar cheese on top
of pie letting it bend over the edges,
sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top.
Heat in microwave on high power for one minute
to melt the cheese and warm the apples some.
Place a scoop if vanilla ice cream
on side of the slice of pie.
Drizzle with caramel syrup,
Drizzle with chocolate syrup.
Dust with confectioner's sugar.
