Ozark Pudding

This traditional pudding is
simple and inexpensive to make.
It is a popular favorite in the
Southern United States to this day.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup finely chopped peeled apple

Directions:
Sift together the flour,
baking powder, and salt.
Set aside. Beat the eggs
well and add the sugar.
Beat until creamy.
Stir into the dry
ingredients and mix.
Add the vanilla, nuts,
and apples and mix.
Pour this mixture into a
well-greased pie plate
and bake in a moderate oven
for 35-40 minutes or until set.
Serve warm with heavy cream.
