Steamed Mussels

One of the best and impressive things to serve
anytime, is a big old plate of steamed mussels.
Freshly cooked in white wine and served
with butter and lemon.

Ingredients:
2 pounds fresh mussels
1 cup white wine 2 bay leaves
2 garlic cloves,peeled and crushed
butter
lemon

Directions:
Clean and wash mussels discarding any bad ones.
Put mussels in a large pot along with all ingredients.
Cover and cook on high heat for five to ten minutes,
Shake pot to move them around, easier for them to open.
Remove the mussels as they open discard any that do not.
Serve along with butter and fresh lemon.
Some people drink the wine and clam juice left in the pot.
