Stuffed Cabbage

Stuffed cabbage is great to have on a cold winter day.
It's not that difficult to make and it's very good.
I've had it baked and also coked on the stovetop,
not sure which I like better, this is a good one.

Ingredients:
1 head cabbage
1 pound ground beef
1 cup cooked rice
1 medium onion,peeled and diced
4 slices day old white bread, crust removed
4 bacon slices
1 egg,beaten
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 small can tomato soup
Water

Directions:
Place cabbage in a large pot,
cover with water and bring to boil.
Lower heat and simmer for about 15 minutes
use tongs to remove the cabbage leaves
one by one from the water, let cool.
In a small bowl pour water over bread
and let sit for ten minutes,
squeeze water from bread.
In a mixing bowl place bread, beef, onion, egg
and pepper then mix real good.
Place some of the beef mixture
in one of the cabbage leaves,
roll up and secure with toothpick,
repeat,
untill you have the desired number stuffed cabbage.
Place in a pot and cover with tomato soup
and enough water to just cover, add bacon.
simmer on medium heat for about 50 minutes.
