Sauteed Apple Bread Pudding

The other day I made an apple bread pudding and had
some left over in the refrigerater. Today for lunch
I decided to slice it up and sautee it in butter.
This was one of those dishes that when you eat it
and when you take the first bite you can't help
but say out loud "this is really really good!"

To make the bread pudding:
8 slices white bread, crusts removed
1/4 cup. sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
butter

Lightly butter inside a straight sided Pyrex bowl.
Cut crust of bread and place in a mixing bowl.
Combine sugar and cinnamon.
Pare, core and chop apples.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Add milk, vanilla and eggs to bread and mix well.
Pour into dish, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar,
cover and bake for about 1 hour or until apples are tender.
Let pudding cool on wire rack 10 minutes.

After dinner refrigerate leftover bread pudding.
The next day remove from refrigerator and
slice bread pudding into serving pieces.
Preheat a sautee pan, add 1 tablespoon
butter and 1 tablespoon oil to pan.
Dip the bread pudding slices in flour
coat both sides and sautee until browned.
remove to warm serving plates.
Top with some maple syrup and powdered sugar.
Serve some sour cream on the side.
