Breading Stuffed Whole Onions

we always have a casserole of onion bread stuffing
at the Thanksgiving day table, here I've created
an inside out version using the bread stuffing
inside a whole baked sweet vadalia onion.

Ingredients:
4 slices day old bread, crust removed
4 onions,unpeeled
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoons Gravy Master
1 tablespoons butter,melted

Directions:
Make onion shells:
Cut a 1/2-inch-thick slice from tops of onions,
discarding tops, and trim just enough from
bottoms for onions to stand upright.
Scoop out all but outer 2 or 3 layers
from each using a small ice cream scoop or spoon
(don’t worry if you make a hole in the bottom),
reserving scooped-out onion and onion shells separately.
Place onion shells in a buttered caserole dish.
Chop scooped out onion. In a bowl combine milk,
salt, pepper, Gravy Master bread and chopped onion.
And let soak for 5 minutes. Place bread stuffing in onion bottoms.
Bake uncovered in a 350 degree F. oven
for about 45 minutes or until bread is browned.
