Classic Chilled Cole Slaw

I've been making this recipe for cole slaw for
over thirty years, it's a good old faithful one.

Ingredients:
1 large firm head of cabbage
1 small onion, peeled and finely chopped
1 carrot, peeled and shredded
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 Tbsp poppy seeds
1 tsp celery seed
1 Tbsp mustard
lemon juice to taste
salt and black pepper to taste

Directions:
Remove the hard core from the cabbage head and discard.
Grate or chop the cabbage into fine shreds or cubes
and sprinkle with the chopped onion,
carrot, salt, pepper and lemon juice.
Add the mayonnaise, mustard, poppy seeds
and celery seed and blend the mixture well.
Adjust the seasonings to taste and chill.
