Ozark Baked Whole
Hickory Smoked Ham

I bought a country hams from one of
those mail order ozark smoke houses.
I did exactly what they recomended
in soaking it in water and all
that pre cooking stuff.
Then I cooked it using this recipe,
it was melt in your mouth heaven.

Ingredients:
1 Ozark smoked country ham
Spice mixture:
1 ts. black pepper
1 ts. salt
1/2 ts. red pepper
1/2 ts. garlic salt

Glaze:
1 C. brown sugar
1/2 c. apple juice
1/2 ts. ground cloves
1/2 ts. salt

Directions:
Wash and let ham defrost and soak overnight in refrigerator
The next day change out with fresh water and let soak four hours.
Wipe ham, but while still damp rub in spice mixture all over ham.
Rub well over the entire surface of the meat.
Slash the fat side of the ham, which should be turned up,
several times so the fat and the seasoning can drain down into the meat.
Place ham in roasting pan and cover.
Baste the meat every twenty minutes with
the glaze with brush or soft cloth swab.
Bake ham in a slow oven, allowing 15 minutes per pound.
Uncover last minutes in oven to brown to ham.
