Homemade Hot Salsa Sauce
Homemade Hot Picante Sauce

I wanted to make a hot picante or salsa
sauce to use as a dip for tortilla chips.
This recipe is real close to the picante
and salsa sauces you can buy in the jar.

Ingredients:
14 ounces chunky fire roasted tomato sauce
14 ounces tomato sauce
14 ounces water
1/2 medium yellow onion, peeled and minced
1 fresh jalapeno pepper, with seeds, minced
2 fresh jalapeno peppers, without seeds, minced
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 teaspoon salt or to taste
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions:
In a saucepan, bring all ingredients to a boil over medium heat.
Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until thick.
Stirring once or twice, remove from heat and cool.
Store in an airtight jar in refrigerator until serving.
