This recipe is for a tomato based sauce
very close to the pasta sauce that is
served at Olive Garden Restaurants.
It's made with a dry onion soup mix
grape jelly and thick tomato sauce.
Ingredients:
2 T. oil
2 lbs. ground round
1 (14 oz.) can of stewed tomatoes, drained and chopped
6 oz. of V-8(R) juice
1 (16 oz.) jar of spaghetti sauce
1 envelope onion soup mix
1/2 c. grape jelly
Directions:
In a large skillet brown meat until cooked through.
Drain excess fat.
Stir in stewed tomatoes, V-8 juice,
pasta sauce, onion soup mix and grape jelly.
Cook, stirring often, for 15-20 minutes,
or until jelly is melted and sauce is heated through.
