Basil Pesto Recipe
Fresh Basil Pesto

Every year we get more basil in the garden
than we can ever use in normal day cooking.
If you grow basil, you need to try this!
A good recipe to make some fresh basil pesto.
I like it with some good olive oil on pasta.

Ingredients:
2 cups fresh basil leaves, washed
1/4 cup pine nuts
3 garlic cloves, peeled and sliced
1 tsp. salt
1/3 cup good quality olive oil
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
In a food processor, or blender,
combine all the ingredients except cheese.
Process in short bursts until it's smooth.
It should not be soupy.
Scrape down the sides as you work.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl
and stir in parmesan cheese.
Place in a covered container and chill.
It will last a week in the refrigerator.
