Whole Wheat Pasta
Sausage and Peppers

I like to use penne pasta to make this.
Whole grain wheat pasta is even better.
This has mild Italian sausage, onions
and green bell peppers in the recipe.
with canned diced tomatoes and spices.

Ingredients:
1 pound Italian sausage meat
1/2 pound whole wheat pasta
1 onion, peeled and chopped
2 green bell peppers, chopped
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (26 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:
In a large saute pan cook sausage with water
crumble up and stirring to break sausage up.
Add olive oil, green pepper and onion,
stir to mix, cover and simmer 15 minutes.
Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and spices.
Mix well, cover and simmer 15 minutes more.
In a large pan cook pasta until done, drain.
Add some sausage and peppers to pasta,
mix well and serve with grated parmesan cheese.
