Authentic Polish
Sauerkraut Salad

You may use this dish immediately
or chilled for a complimentary
side dish to potatoes, meats,
stews, sausage sandwich topping.
Some like it on their hot dogs.
I would use it 'sparingly' if at all
for chicken, fish or turkey dishes.
But in my home, you never know.

Ingredients:
1 Bag Sauerkraut
1 or 2 medium red apples
1/3 Cup Vegetable oil
Pinch of salt
3 or more Tablespoons of white sugar
Dashes of Black pepper (optional)

Directions:
Open bag/can of sauerkraut, drain,
squeeze out excess juice and place in a bowl.
DON'T peel the apples, just core and grate.
Same side as used for cheddar cheese grating.
Immediately, place grated apples inside
the sauerkraut and mix well.
Pour your oil, pinch of salt,
several dashes of black pepper
and sugar into mixture.
Toss around well, adding sugar
until it tastes some what sweet.
