Bread Machine
White Clam Pizza

This recipe makes one of the best
white clam pizzas I've ever had.
It uses white truffle oil in it.
Don't fear about the mayonnaise,
think of it as a white olive oil.
Tasting this pizza for the first
time will bring you to your knees.

Ingredients:
For the crust:
3/4 cup warm water
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon white truffle oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups bread flour
2 teaspoons instant active dry yeast

For the topping:
4 to 6 tablespoons Real mayonnaise
1 medium onion, peeled, cut in half and sliced thin
6 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
Salt to taste
pepper to taste
1 tablespoon fresh basil leaves, chopped
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1/2 pound fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced

Directions:
Add all the ingredients in the
bread pan of bread machine.
Process according to manufacturer's
instructions for a dough setting.
Meanwhile preheat the pizza stone
or tiles to 450 degrees F. for 30 minutes.
Prepare your toppings.
When the bread machine has
completed the dough cycle,
remove the dough from the pan
to a lightly oiled surface.
Knead the dough several times
and form the dough into an oval;
cover with a towel and let rest 10 minutes.
Roll and stretch the dough into a baking sheet.
Spread mayonnaise over the top of the dough.
Layer sliced onion over the mayonnaise;
sprinkle garlic, salt, ground black pepper
and basil over the top of the pizza.
Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and layer
sliced mozzarella over top.
Place in oven and bake for 15 minutes,
or until crust is golden brown.
