Jamaican Cornmeal Porridge

Jamaican cornmeal porridge is one of my
favorite and ultimate comfort foods.
Sometimes I add fresh fruit to the
water before adding the corn meal.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup cornmeal
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
In a bowl, combine the cornmeal
with 1/2 cup of the cold water.
In a soup pot, bring the remaining
1 cup of water to the boil.
Stir in the cornmeal mixture and salt.
Continue cooking and stirring for 10 minutes.
Add condensed milk and vanilla extract.
Top with grated cinnamon and nutmeg.
