With Thanksgiving day approaching I thought
a simple recipe for roasting a turkey was good.
Everyone could use a refresher course for this.
This recipe has no stuffing in the bird.
Ingredients:
1 turkey, thawed if frozen
1 onion, peeled and quartered
2 carrots, peeled and cut up
2 celery stalks, cut up
1 cup cold water
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Remove turkey from packaging and then
remove neck and giblets from inside cavity and set aside
to use for making a stuffing or a turkey gravy.
Place vegetables inside turkey cavity and season
with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
Place turkey on a rack in a roasting pan and bake
for 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until done to your liking.
Remove from oven and let rest before serving.
