I learned to peel whole peaches this way
from my Grandmother many years ago.
She canned the fruits for winter storage
and baked up the best tasting peach pies.
This method for removing the peels
works for fresh tomatoes as well.
12 whole fresh peaches
hot water to boil peaches in
cold water for shocking peaches
Fill a large bowl with cold ice water.
Place peaches in a large soup pot.
Cover with enough water about 1"
Remove peaches from water and cook
on high heat, bring water to a rolling boil.
Carefully place peaches into boiling water,
bring water back to a boil, remove peaches,
Placing them right into the bowl of cold water.
Let cool for about 2 minutes, then peel.
