I learned to make these easy
baking powder biscuits from my Grandmother.
I'm sure this is a really old original recipe.
Ingredients:
1 cup and 1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup milk
a pinch of salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
In bowl combine the milk and salt,
add the flour and baking powder,
add vegetable shortening.
Mix to combine with fork.
Remove to a floured board and knead,
adding more flour if needed.
Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.
Cut out with a 2 inch glass or cutter.
Bake in oven no longer than needed.
When the top browns they are done.
