Shortbread was traditionally made
with fresh butter and ground oatmeal,
but eventually fine flours were used.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup, or one stick butter
1 cup all purpose flour,sifted
3 tablespoons confectioner's sugar
2 tablespoons milk
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a mixing bowl,cream the butter and sugar,
then add the milk and gradually add the flour.
When a stiff dough is formed, using your hands
roll dough into walnut sized balls.
Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake 12 minutes.
