A good recipe for making a comfort food on a cold day.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of butter
1 cup of sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon of allspice
1 cup of cooked appl es
1 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
For the sauce:
1/2 stick of butter
1 cup of brown sugar
6 tablespoons of milk
Directions:
Cream the brown sugar and butter together
and add the beaten egg.
Sift together the cinn amon,
nutmeg, allspice, flour, baking soda, and salt
and add to the butter/brown sugar mixture.
Fold in the cooked apples
and pour into a greased 8” X 8” X 2” baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 to 35 minutes.
Mix the 1/2 stick of butter, 1 cup of brown sugar,
and the 6 tabl espoons
of milk together in a pot.
Bring the sauce mixture to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
Serve by pouring the warm sauce over the apple pudding.
