Authentic Italian
Hoagie Sandwiches

A submarine sandwich, also known as a sub, grinder, hero, hoagie,
Italian sandwich, po' boy, wedge, zep, torpedo, bocadillo or roll,
is a sandwich that consists of an oblong roll, often of Italian,
Spanish or French bread, split lengthwise either into two
pieces or opened in a "V" on one side, and filled
with various meats, cheeses, vegetables, spices, oils and sauces.

My Authentic Hoagie Sandwich recipe...This is really good!

Ingredients:
2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 fresh baked hoagie rolls
1/4 lb Italian ham, thinly sliced
1/4 lb capicola, thinly sliced
1/4 lb genoa salami,thinly sliced
1/4 lb mortadella, thinly sliced
1/4 lb Italian provolone cheese
1 large fresh tomato, thinly sliced
1 small red onion, peeled, thinly sliced
some sweet and hot peppers to taste
shredded lettuce as desired

Directions:
Slice the rolls, but not all the way through.
Place the vinegar and oregano in a small bowl.
Slowly whisk in the oil until emulsified.
Remove some bread from the center of each half of roll.
Drizzle a little of the olive oil mixture on the bread.
Place first the meats, then the cheese in layers.
Top with the tomatoes, onions, then the lettuce.
Drizzle with more of the dressing.
Heat in the microwave for a minute or two.
