Authentic Poutine
French Fries and Gravy

Poutine is a dish consisting of French fries
topped with fresh cheese curd,
covered with a rich brown gravy.
Poutine is a diner staple which originated in
Quebec and can now be found across Canada.
It is now sold by many fast food chains.
This is really good food, you must try this.

Ingredients:
French Fries:
8 medium potatoes
oil for frying
Salt

Gravy:
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
2 cups beef bouillon
Salt and Pepper

Directions:
French fries:
In deep pan, heat about 2 inches of oil to 400 degrees F.
Meanwhile, peel potatoes; cut potatoes into 1/4 inch slices;
cut slices into 1/4 inch lengthwise strips.
Put enough potatoes in pan to make one layer.
Fry 5 minutes or until golden brown; drain on paper towels.
Repeat with remaining potatoes.
Sprinkle lightly with salt to taste.

Gravy:
In skillet over medium heat melt butter,
mix in the flour and stir until brown.
Gradually stir in the bouillon.
Heat to boiling, stirring until thickened.
Add salt and pepper to taste.

To serve:
For each serving place french fries in bowl,
Spoon gravy over fries.
