Finish your cook out with this sweet dessert,
Angel food cake hot off the grill with berries.
With a topping of fresh whipped cream.
Ingredients:
1 prepared angel food cake
1 quart fresh strawberries, cleaned and hulled
1 tbsp sugar
3 cups whipped cream topping
3 tbsp butter
Directions:
Fold a 3 foot piece of foil in half.
Crease all sides except for one,
to create a foil pouch.
Slice strawberries in half and
fill pouch with strawberries,
1 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp butter.
Fold remaining side of pouch shut.
Slice angel food cake and lightly butter
both sides of each piece of cake with remaining butter.
Place foil pouch on grill for 5 minutes then remove and let rest. Meanwhile, grill each side of cake for 1-2 minutes,
or until slightly toasted. Place cake on plate
then spoon on strawberries and a dollop of whipped topping.
