Bratwurst and
Cabbage Casserole

I've also made this using summer sausages.
You can make this as hot as you want,
I go heavy on the hot sauce most times.

Ingredients:
6 bratwurst or knockwurst
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 medium onion, sliced
4 cups shredded green cabbage
1 tart apple, cored and diced
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
1 cup chicken stock

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Pierce bratwurst with fork.
Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium heat;
add bratwurst and brown on all sides.
Remove bratwurst from pan.
Add onion and cabbage; cook
4 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
Add apple, caraway seeds, pepper sauce,
chicken stock and bratwurst;
heat to boiling over high heat.
Cover; place in oven and bake
for 20 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
