This is a good recipe for making
a black pepper sauce you can use
on steaks, chicken and vegetables.
Great served on mashed potatoes.
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons ground black pepper
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup beef broth
1 cup red wine
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon dry tarragon leaves, shredded
1 cup heavy cream, or more
Directions:
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Add garlic, cook and brown slightly.
Add pepper and heat for 1 minute or so.
Add flour, stir, and add beef broth and wine,
and bring to the boil stirring all the time.
Add cream and tarragon, bring to the boil,
reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes
until sauce is reduced by about one third.
