Apples and bacon belong together,
they taste great in this recipe.
Ingredients:
8 oz bacon sliced finely
4 shallots cut into rings
1 granny smith apple,
peeled, cored, and sliced
4 oz Point Reyes Blue Cheese
2 sprigs fresh thyme
1 store bought pie shell,
at room temperature
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
In a medium saute pan, saute bacon
until brown and crisp.
Drain half of the rendered fat.
Add shallots until transparent.
Add apples and thyme.
saute until apples are browned. Set aside.
Take the store bought pastry shell out
of the foil pan and place on a baking pan.
Place filling in the center, crimp the edges.
Sprinkle blue cheese on top of the tart
and bake for twenty minutes.
Serve with a green salad.
