Sausage Chowder

This is a great tasting recipe.
Inexpensive, quick, and easy.
You can expand it by adding
more of your favorite ingredients
and some chicken or vegetable broth.
Great served with corn bread.

Ingredients:
1 pound bulk pork sausage
2 (15 ounce) cans
kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (32 fluid ounce) bottle tomato juice
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup diced peeled potatoes
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 bay leaf

Directions:
In a Dutch oven or soup pot,
brown sausage until no longer pink; drain.
Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour.
Remove bay leaf.
