Thanksgiving Day Roast Turkey

I keep things simple in this recipe.
Defrost the turkey, remove the things
that are inside the cavity, both ends.
Then bake until golden brown and crispy.

1 whole turkey
2 cups water
Place the turkey breast side up on a rack.
Place the rack in a roasting pan with water.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Place roasting pan in oven for 30 minutes,
then reduce heat to 350 degrees F.
It should take about 15 minutes per pound.
Bake uncovered and baste every so often.
Let turkey rest 15 minutes before carving.
